How would you like that? Monogrammed? Within an hour? Light on the spice and sweet toppings on the side? In a world drizzling with personalization, immediate gratification and doing things, “my way” … it takes focused effort to step back and think outside the self.
Sure, this is our “one life to live” – but who gave us life in the first place? And why? It makes all the difference to know that there IS a plan and there IS a God … and there IS a way back to live with Him. Christ is the way. In fact, He says so Himself:
“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me” (John 14:6).
Not only is Christ the way, but He’s the ONLY way. We’d be fools to think another way will work to our eternal advantage. “There is only one way to happiness and fulfillment. Jesus Christ is the Way. Every other way, any other way, whatever other way is foolishness,” said Elder Lawrence E. Corbridge of the Seventy, during the Oct. 2008 General Conference. He continues, “Life is hard, but life is simple. Get on the path and never, ever give up. You never give up. You just keep on going. You don’t quit, and you will make it.”
I’m so thankful that we get new days to try again, to keep going, and to eventually make progress … and make it Home. He knows I need MANY opportunities for growth during this life! So, here’s to embarking on each new day by choosing to live it His way!
