Heaven is Here- by Stephanie Nielson
I just couldn't put the book down. She is an amazing writer and I just loved it. If you don't know her story then you absolutely need to do everything you can to get your hands on this book. Stephanie and her husband were in a tragic plane accident in 2008. She was burned on 80% of her body. Her husband was burned on 40% of his body. The road to recovery was hard, VERY had. Plus, she had four children at that time. Stephanie talks about her life before the accident and then you get to hear about her road to recovery. She talks about how she felt like she needed to use this experience to build and help others! WHO SHOULD READ THIS: Everyone! If you are struggling with hard times or trials. If you think your life is hard. Or if you want to be reminded how strong the human body is. (Says the Pioneer Women.) Then this book is for you! She also has been writing a blog since 2005, that you should defiantly read too! much love, halee Growing up Duggar by Jana, Jill, Jessa, & Jinger Duggar. Have you ever heard of the TV show 19 Kids and Counting? (Yes, they have 19 kids. They are very devote Christians who have shown the world how the stick to their beliefs, handle life & homeschooling with all those kids on TLC's 19 Kids & Counting.) And just so you know its my favorite TV show, ever! This book is written by the four oldest girls. They are super sweet and Godly young women. They talk all about relationships: with God, yourself, parents, siblings, friends and boys! By reading their stories you can come to see how your relationships really do affect you and who you become. You also get to see a more in depth and a candid view of their life. It's a good read and has some good insights to think about. They defiantly made me think about my relationships and how they affected me. I especially loved the chapter that talked about friends.
WHO SHOULD READ THIS: If you are struggling with your relationships or simply want to improve the ones you have. If you would simply like to learn how they grew up in a family of 19 kids! If you need something to encourage you to make sure your relationships are helping you grow closer to God. Halee I love Easter!! & I love this video. Please watch it.
I know that my Redeemer lives. What comfort this sweet sentence gives! He lives, he lives, who once was dead. He lives, my ever-living Head. He lives to bless me with his love. He lives to plead for me above. He lives my hungry soul to feed. He lives to bless in time of need. (I Know That My Redeemer Lives from Hymns of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.) How precious is this song? Look at all the truths in just this verse. He truly lives to bless us with his love, to plead for us above, feed our hungry soul, & to bless us in times of need. Isn't this such a sweet song. I love it. "And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives!" D&C 76:22 happy Easter my dear friends! love, Halee Focused- By Noelle Pikus-Pace
Yes, the Olympic silver medalist from Utah. She talks about her journey to the Olympics & how she stayed "focused," through one of her scary accidents, and in her daily life. You get to learn a little bit about the Olympics, her, her family, and her sport. She inspired me to try new things to find out what I like, because you never know if that is going to be your favorite thing or something that you are really good at. (Yes, that means to try new foods too.) Soul Surfer- Bethany Hamilton. The amazing surfer that got her arm bitten off by a shark. (how do you make that any less horrible or gory than it is?!?) You get to read all about her and her life before and after the accident. Whats amazing is that she kept going when things got tough, and how she never gave up no matter the situation. She didn't give up on her dreams. This story showed me I can accomplish my dreams and even though hard times come you can get over them and keep going. WHO SHOULD READ THESE BOOKS: If you need a little motivation to keep going. To help you do hard things. Then these books are for YOU! (and if you love sports, but you don't need to to read these! they are so amazing!) xoxo halee |
