Who loves their friends? Friends are amazing. They are the people you laugh with till your about pee your pants and the ones you text all night.
Friends are such a huge blessing. They can help you in so many ways or tear you down in so many ways. (and if they do they are NOT your friends!) So please choose carefully. I'm pretty sure you've all heard, "the people you hang out with is the person you'll become." They affect your personality, the way you talk, see things, do things, dress, your likes and dislikes, etc.
In the For the Strength of Youth pamphlet it says,
“They [friends] will influence how you think and act, and even help you determine the person you will become.”
I don't know about you but I want to be the best person I can be. So how I choose my friends is very important. So for me that means I need to find friends that are happy, uplifting, funny, goal setters, dream catchers, kind, understanding, spiritual, & real. What does your list look like?
You may be thinking well how do I get good friends? or Those kind of people will never want to be my friend!
In order to have good friends YOU have to be a good friend! If you go around all upset and complaining all the time; want kind of friends are you going to get?
Be kind to everyone. Don't gossip. Only talk nicely about people. Smile. Keep your standards & don't change them for other people. If you do you will find yourself changing other things too.
Your friends should respect you. If you don't want to do something they should respect your decision. You should encourage each other to your best selves. You should help each other through the hard times.
Your friends can bring you down if your not careful. Watch who you hang out with. If you wouldn't want someone saying "oh, that's the girl that hangs out with so and so who's not very respectful." about you, then you better watch who you hang out with.

John Bytheway said, "Choose friends who make it easier to reach your highest potential, who make it easier for you to live the gospel of Jesus Christ, and who make it easier for you to make good choices."
Do yourself a favor and choose your friends wisely! Only invest yourself and your time in friends that will last and help you uphold the Lord's standards.
